macdonnel range and ochre pits

EC739A48-326B-4722-889C-010EB66487F6West MacDonnell National Park and Finke River.  An early morning walk close to our last campsite.  We were still pretty cold but in good humor.

Annother MacDonnell Range walk.

After a long hike, we found water.

Ochre pits where the colors of the ancient (and modern) aboriginal paintings comes from.

Our last walk in the MacDonnell Range, finding a very cold lake to dip out toes into.

Back to the comforts of hot showers and warm beds, we spent a night and morning in Alice Springs breakfasting in an outdoor cafe-great waffles and eggs Benedict— and taking in a few galleries before heading back to Sydney.
